Singapore G1, Stands for Singapore Green One Campaign created by SEC (Singapore Environment Council).

It’s a campaign which hopes to reduce carbon footprint by increasing awareness of the issue and also to encourage people to walk for shorter distances instead of driving.

The Singapore G1 2012 Walkathon features 5 kilometres routes from 2 routes. The North which started at Kalang MRT and the East route started at Stadium MRT. Both routes ended at Marina Barrage. More than 20,000 people showed up at Marina Barrage.

I was one of the official photographers for ESG, I was in charge of the East route that was flagged off by Mr Jose Raymond, Executive Director of the SEC.
We pass by Garden by the East, a nice route to walk with beautiful scenery of Singapore flyer, Marina Bay Sands and also Garden by the Bay.
During the walk, we also met some people who were canoeing along the river, cycling and running.
Many old people join this walk, good to see how healthy and active at their age, and some of them also asked their children to join the walk, and parents brought their babies to join this event.
