A collaboration between Agnes Christina and Astu Prasidya

Kongkalikong Is a historical fictional performance about three generations of Chinese women in Java who moved to Singapore and converted to Islam. From 1927, their journey flows along with political and economical turmoil in their times.
Told in musical monologue, Kongkalikong was inspired by “loan words” in Malays, which is an illustration of the assimilation of Chinese culture into Malay culture itself.
