Asia’s First and Only Sustainable Light Art Festival

9 March – 1 Apeil 2012
7.30 pm – 11 pm
Marina Bay Waterfront

Garden of Light
Hexogon Solution was founded in 1997 by Adrian Goh. It has staged several large-scale projections on giant structures, buildings and even a commercial airliner. Goh and his team of design and production staff are experts in the field of video mapping projection.

ConceptGarden of Light is an ambitious projection on the surface of the ArtScience Museum at Marina Bay Sands incorporating a variety of light and sound effects to tell a story about environmental sustainability and highlight the beauty of the natural world. The projectors make no impact on the surface of the Art Science Museum but create a spectacular effect visible from several vantage points throughout Marina Bay.

Light of the Merlion
OCUBO is an art and multimedia studio dedicated to light projects for more than ten years. Nuno Maya and Carole Purnelle, the founding artists and directors of the studio, have been presenting their light, multimedia and interactive artworks around the globe.

ConceptLight of the Merlion pays tribute to the Merlion, which was inaugurated in 1972. As a light celebration of this symbol and connecting with the festival theme “Light Meets Asia”, Light of the Merlion creates a memorable experience through light projection over the surface of the sculpture. This festival commission minimises waste and consumption through the re-use of materials.

Key Frames
Groupe LAPS is a group of six artists and designers. With their combined expertise and technical know-how in areas such as art, design and lighting, Group LAPS develops film, light installations and multimedia applications.

Concept
Key Frames makes use of LED light tubes to create a display of more than twenty static stick figures. When paired with an electrifying soundtrack, the lights create a choreographed display which evokes movement, activity and a festive atmosphere. Originally commissioned for the Fête des Lumières in Lyon, France, the same work will once again delight audiences – this time at Marina Bay.

Key Frames was created for Fête des Lumieres 2011 in Lyon, France.
Key Frames is supported by Led Ner.
